A team of 13 Viking swimmers travelled to Woy Woy on the Central Coast of NSW to participate in the 2025 MSNSW State Short Course Championships on 11-12 October. The Vikings had an enjoyable swim meet, and even though our team was small compared to many of the Sydney clubs, we did our club proud with some top-noths rsults and shiny medals with ribbons to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Masters Swimming Australia.

This year, the MSNSW Long Distance Championships were held in short course (25m) format at Knox Grammar Aquatic Centre on Sunday, 31 August 2025.

The 2025 World Aquatics Masters Championships were held in Singapore, 7-14 August 2025.

Tuggeranong Masters had four swimmers representing our club: Jeanette Droop, Caz Makin, Elizabeth Merenda, and Anne Smyth.

The 2025 Great Barrier Reef Masters Games were held from 29 May – 1 June 2025 at the Tobruk Memorial Pool in Cairns, Queensland, attracting around 220 swimmers and over 30 volunteers. In its seventh edition, the GBRMG is held every two years and is popular amongst masters-aged athletes from around Australia and overseas.

A total of nine women from our club (Ann, Brenda, Catherine, Caz, Donna, Katrina, Kris, Kylie, Liz) let their hair down to attend this fun and relaxed event hosted by Masters Swimming Queensland.

From 8 to 12 April 2025, 16 intrepid Vikings headed to Melbourne for some PBs, good chats, and general fun at the 2025 Masters Swimming Australia National Championships. The Championships were held in Long Course format at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre (MSAC).

On the weekend of 29/30 March 2025, 21 swimmers from Tuggeranong Masters ventured to Sydney Olympic Park to participate in the Masters Swimming NSW State Long Course Championships.

We decided we’d go retro again with our club branding in 2025 …. and we got to show off our new ‘Take A Liking To A Viking’ 2025 red and navy t-shirts on pool deck for the first time!

On 24 November 2024, twelve Tuggeranong swimmers made a quick day trip to Sydney for the NSW Long Distance Long Course Championships held at Granville Pool. Under hot sunny conditions, our swimmers had an enjoyable day and swam well.

The Pan Pacific Masters Games were held in November on the Gold Coast, Queensland. Held biennially, the Pan Pacific Masters Games encompassed over 12,000 athletes participating in 45 sports, including archery and equestrian to volleyball, water polo, and swimming.

The swimming competition, run by Masters Swimming Queensland, was held from 6-10 November 2024 at the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre in Southport.

Our mighty Vikings team certainly did “go big and go hard” during the weekend of 12-13 October 2024 at the Master Swimming NSW State Short Course Championships at the Australian Institute of Sport in Canberra.

279 competitors signed up to swim at the event, representing 41 clubs (32 from NSW, 5 from QLD, 2 from VIC, 1 from WA, and 1 from the USA).

Tuggeranong Vikings Masters had a record 41 swimmers valiantly waiting to compete over the weekend.
