Vikings shine at the 2025 MSNSW State SC Championships
Report by Caz Makin, Publicity Officer
A team of 13 Viking swimmers travelled to Woy Woy on the Central Coast of NSW to participate in the 2025 MSNSW State Short Course Championships on 11-12 October. Some team members enjoyed a walk on the beach Friday evening, soaking in the sunset and relaxing water views, finishing off with a feed of fish and chips. Others caught up with long-time friends, and some spent time with family.
Vikings team shine and fly the flag for the ACT!
The Vikings had an enjoyable swim meet, and even though our team was small compared to many of the Sydney clubs, we did our club proud with some top-noths rsults and shiny medals with ribbons to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Masters Swimming Australia.
On Saturday evening, we had a hearty dinner at the Ettalong Diggers Club to refuel, enjoyed by all who attended, and our club was renamed "Tuggerah Long Masters Swimming" for the night!
Some reflections from Liesl …. “Someone said to me, ‘you need to practice racing to race - it’s very different from training’ …. each swim event this year has got better from the bundle of nerves/anxiety I was at the beginning of the year to a now more relaxed approach.”
Our results showed what we can do all the way from the ACT …
