All going swimmingly with gummy bears in the 2026 Endurance 1000 program
Report by Liz Needham, Endurance 1000 Co-Ordinator
Almost halfway through the year, and the Vikings are going along swimmingly (pun absolutely intended) in the 2026 Endurance 1000 program. Every Tuesday and Saturday morning, we’ve been getting 10 or more happy swimmers turning up to swim, time‑keep, and have a good chat by the pool. We’ve also welcomed a few new faces recently, which has been fantastic.
A lot of our regulars take on the full program — that’s 62 swims across the year — while others join in to help with time‑keeping or to swim their favourite distances and strokes. Every timed swim earns endurance points for our club in the Endurance 1000 program.
We’d love to see even more people come along for a swim (and yes, a gummy bear is waiting for you at the end!!)
Our endurance sessions are friendly, relaxed, and a great chance to swim at your own pace. We usually grab a coffee together afterwards too.
