Spectacular conditions for Broulee Bay to Breakers Ocean Swim | 10 March 2024

Report by Caz Makin, Publiciity Officer

Once again on the Canberra Day long weekend, several ACT-based open water swimmers from our club or friends of our club headed to Broulee for some fun, surf, and sun.

Sunday, 10 March turned out to be a spectacular day with clear skies, warm water, and great conditions for the 2024 Bay to Breakers 1.4k Ocean Swim.

Congratulations to the following swimmers who completed the event with podium placings by a number of our swimmers!

Graeme Wolfenden (M70-79) - 1st
Caz Makin (F50-59) - 1st
Lisa Haureliuk (F40-49) - 1st
Nicolee Martin (F50-59) - 2nd
Suzie Gunning (F60-69) - 6th
Katrina Phillips (F40-49) - 12th

Ann Clayton (F50-59) - 26th
Petrina Quinn (F60-69) - 29th

Nicolee, Suzie, and Caz also did the Open swim after the age group event which ended up being a reduced distance as the buoys were moved to make the course a little shorter than the age group event. Lisa had a crack at the inaugural Dash for Cash surf 200-300m swim.
