Racing kicked off for 2024 at the Campbelltown BPS Meet

Report by Caz Makin, Publicity Officer

The first MSNSW race meet for the year kicked off on 27 January 2024 at the Campbelltown BPS Meet.

The 50m outdoor pool at The Gordon Fetterplace Aquatic Centre is always a favourite with our Vikings crew and the Campbelltown Masters always put on a good meet!

We had a solid contingent of 13 swimmers attending and testing out diving off the blocks again for the first time in 3 months, making a big splash into 2024.

With a 400m distance option, the Campbeltown meet is always a chance for swimmers to not only race the distance but gain an Endurance 1000 swim and some Endurance points for our club tally.

We saw a brand new member, Graham Clews attend his first swim meet breaking a club record in the men’s 65-69 age group 100m Freestyle. Christine Mummery broke three club records in the women’s 65-69 age group: 400m Freestyle, 100m Freestyle and 100m Backstroke. Our two women’s relay teams set new club records in the 4x100m Medley Relay.

Caz Makin, Christine Mummery, Kylie Lane, and Kristis Ruus were all age group points winners.

Overall, our club finished third on overall total point score, behind Blacktown and Warringah.
